Code Enforcement

The Planning and Building & Safety Departments are responsible for the enforcement of the Tehama County Zoning Ordinance and Building Code in the unincorporated areas of the County.  Our goal is to work with residents and businesses to preserve and improve the community throughout the unincorporated areas of Tehama County while educating the public.

The County’s code enforcement division is at the old Courthouse in the basement at Environmental Health. The Department strives for compliance within 30 days; however, time frames will vary on a case by case basis due to the violation type, owner’s response, legal processes and other variables.
